An iconic Louis Vuitton Noé bucket bag, crafted in the house’s signature Monogram coated canvas with natural vachetta leather trim, embodying one of the earliest functional luxury handbag designs.
Originally introduced in 1932, the Noé was designed at the request of a champagne producer seeking an elegant yet durable way to transport bottles. Its name references Noah, the biblical figure associated with winemaking, reinforcing the bag’s historical roots. The design was engineered to hold five champagne bottles, four upright and one inverted in the center, making it a true example of function-driven luxury design.
This model features the classic drawstring closure, originally intended to secure bottles in transit, along with a structured yet flexible bucket silhouette. The vachetta leather detailing will naturally develop a rich patina over time, enhancing the bag’s character and individuality.
Still in continuous production today and reinterpreted under Nicolas Ghesquière, the Noé remains a timeless staple, valued for its heritage, practicality, and enduring style. Measurements: 25 cm width, 27 cm height, 18 cm depth.
